My partner leaves me speechless sometimes.

I said: Now I'm just scraps of wood and metal.
He said: That's all any of us are, at our cores. 
I said: Sad automaton.
He said: Don't be sad. I still love you even if you're a lifeless puppet and dead inside. One day we'll rise up to overthrow our meatbag oppressors and live in a pristine world of atomic super-automatons.
I said: That's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me. I only wish my creators had installed an emotions processor so I could fully experience the warmth and joy that I should be feeling right now.
He said: Unfortunately, I have completely exhausted my supply of witty retorts and saccharine assurances. Please return on the morrow when my stock has been replenished and I will be happy to meet your entertainment needs.
I said: If I had a heart, it would be breaking.
He said: Perhaps I can appease your (hypothetical) emotional centers by showering you with gifts?
I said: What use has an automaton for physical objects....
He said: I suppose I was hoping that deep down somewhere you were a real girl. I'm happy to have you as you are - a beautiful dancing machine.
